List of Veterans Day deals & freebies for 2013 include Applebee's, Chili's, and more

On Monday, Nov. 11, the country will mark Veterans Day -- a day to honor those who have served in the armed forces.

Many restaurants and businesses will honor veterans with free meals, appetizers, car washes, oil changes and other deals. The following deals have been verified for 2013. Note, some deals are for Monday, others are for different days.

Get free admission to national parks across the country on Nov. 9-11:

The Indiana State Museum is hosting Veterans Day activities on Nov. 10, and military personnel can attend for free. The activities include the "Heroes from the Heartland" exhibit, the Indianapolis Municipal Band, presentation by veterans and Civil War re-enactors and more. More information:

The Indianapolis Zoo is offering free admission for all military personnel on Sunday, Nov. 10, and their non-military family members will receive a 20 percent discount.

Uno's Chicago Grill (Southport Road location) is offering a free entree or individual pizza with a purchase of equal or greater value on Nov. 11. 

Carrabba's is offering all active duty personnel and retired veterans a free appetizer on Nov. 9-11. You will need proof of service such as military ID or dressing in your uniform. Check your nearby location to make sure they are participating:

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks is offering veterans a free meal from a special menu on SUNDAY, Nov. 10. Dine-in only. You will need military ID. Please make a reservation. Menu & details:

Veterans get a free meal at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina on Nov. 11. Pick a "choose 2" or "choose 3" combo. You will need military ID or other proof of military service. Dine-in only.

Veterans and active duty military eat free from a special menu at Chili's on Nov. 11. Proof of service required.

Red Robin is offering a free Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries for all military personnel on Nov. 11.

Anyone who has served in the U.S. military eats free at Golden Corral on Nov. 11 from 4-9 p.m. No ID required. Dine-in only.

Smokey Bones is offering 30 percent off on Nov. 11 for anyone with a military ID.

With a valid military ID, veterans and active military personnel can have free all-you-can-eat pancakes at Bob Evans on Nov. 11.

All veterans get a free meal from a special menu on Nov. 11 at Olive Garden. Family dining with the veteran also get 10 percent off. Military families get 10 percent off every day in November. Details:

Get a free Texas Tonion appetizer and drink at Red Lobster

Veterans and active duty military get a free entree from a limited menu at Applebee's on Nov. 11. Must show military ID. Beverage not included. Menu and details:

Champps Americana is offering veterans and active duty military a free burger and fries on Nov. 11.

Texas Roadhouse is offering veterans a free lunch (and beverage) from a special menu on Nov. 11. Proof of military service required. Active, former and retired military welcome. Dine-in only.

Enjoy a free pizza at California Pizza Kitchen on Nov. 11. Proof of military service required. Dine-in only. Valid at participating locations:

Vets get free lunch at TGI Fridays on Nov. 11. Sadly, the website doesn't offer any more details. Call your local location for details: (Last year the deal was only offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., so check before you go.)

Veterans and active duty military get a free meal at Hooters, up to $10.99, on Nov. 11. Must show proof of service and buy a drink.

O'Charley's restaurants are offering veterans a free meal from their $9.99er menu on Nov. 11.

Cheeseburger in Paradise is offering a free All-American Burger and fries with the purchase of a drink. Must show proof of service. Dine in only.

All retired, active and inactive military personnel can have a free bagel and schmear from Einstein Bros. Bagels on Nov. 11 from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Famous Dave's is offering a variety of free and discounted meals for military personnel on Nov. 11. Deals vary by location. Check your local restaurant:

All military members can get a free order of Crazy Bread at participating Little Caesars locations on Nov. 11.

With valid military ID, Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and a drink on Nov. 11, plus 10 percent off all meals through the end of the year.

Get a free cheeseburger combo meal including dessert at Max & Erma's on Nov. 11.

Longhorn Steakhouse is offering a free appetizer for all service members from Nov. 11-14.

Get a free doughnut and small coffee at Krispy Kreme on Nov. 11. You'll need to present your military ID or wear your uniform for the free treat. No purchase neccesary. Not valid at grocery or convenience stores. You may have to pay sales tax.

Many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active-duty U.S. service members and veterans on Nov. 11 with valid proof of service. For a list of participating stores:

Veterans, active duty military and military spouses get a free tall (12 oz.) brewed coffee at Starbucks on Veterans Day:

Mike's Car Wash is offering a free wash for military personnel on Nov. 11.

Get a free oil change at any Meineke Car Care location on Nov. 11 with a valid military ID.
