Firefighters, Community Rehabilitating National Guardsman's Home

POSTED: 8:40 pm EDT May 15, 2008

The Anderson Fire Department and others are working to rehabilitate the home of Anderson firefighter Greg Vannatta, who is on his second tour of duty in Iraq with the Indiana National Guard.

Vannatta bought the home, knowing it needed work, before he knew he was going on his second tour. He wasn't able to work on it much before he left, so others are pitching in to do the job.

The team working on the rehabilitation, which should be finished in June, also wants to help cover Vannatta's mortgage costs.
