You’ve probably heard a lot about STEM: Fields related to science, technology, engineering and math are in high demand.

That’s what makes the United States a global leader — the genius and hard work of its scientists, engineers, and innovators.

“(Science) is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world,” President Barack Obama said.

People who work in STEM fields are dreamers, doers and designers. They create, improvise, and improve every aspect of our world.

Indiana State University is preparing the next generation of these thinkers. Sycamores pioneer what’s next in aviation, engineering and wellness. Their visions of architecture and design build our tomorrow.

If you dream of a college education with real-world applications and a career shaping the future, then your reality is the Indiana State University.

But don’t take our word for it. Meet these three Sycamores:

• Construction management major Mariah Wright, '16, has more experience in the field than most graduates: https://youtu.be/LWK3l2sKNQ4

• Honors and nursing student Aaron Schaidle relaxes by playing video games and running: https://youtu.be/e668Y7-2mAU

• Aviation major Kayleigh Bordner was part of a team that placed second in the national Air Race Classic: https://youtu.be/V2tIBrUITZU
