Fan Club Promises To Repay VIP Ticketholders

Some VIP Ticketholders Had Trouble Getting Refunds

Hoosier Aerosmith fans who bought VIP ticket packages to the band's canceled Indianapolis show should be getting refunds soon, fan club organizers said.

The Aug. 30 concert at the Verizon Wireless Music Center was one of many dropped after leader singer Steven Tyler was injured in a fall during a show in South Dakota.

Ed Libka of Crawfordsville bought two VIP tickets for his girlfriend and her sister in May totaling $446. To get those tickets, he was required to become a member of the Aerosmith Fan Club for an extra $49.

But when the Indianapolis concert was canceled, Libka said he was unable to get a straight answer about when he would be getting a refund for his tickets, 6News' Rafael Sanchez reported.

In an e-mail, Verizon Wireless Music Center spokeswoman Susan Kreiner said that a check was cut and mailed on Sept. 29 to Paid Inc., the Web site where Libka bought his tickets.

"This process took a little while longer than usual because of some miscommunication and a delay in receiving proper paperwork," she said. "Paid Inc. should have the check soon and refunds should start going out to purchasers."

The company representing the band's fan club known as Aeroforce One said it notified all the customers that their refunds are being processed in the manner they specified when they filled out the refund request.

"Aeroforce One has been refunding VIP ticket packages for the cancelled Aerosmith shows as soon as ticket refunds are received from the promoters of the various venues," said spokeswoman Julie Shepherd. "As soon as Aeroforce One receives the ticket money, fans will be issued within 24 hours, as has been typical for all shows that have been processed so far."

Libka said he has not yet received his refund. Officials did not say how many VIP customers were affected.
