Former Hawkeye Peterson Transfers To Arkansas

POSTED: 8:00 pm EDT May 26, 2009

(Sports Network) - Former Iowa Hawkeye Jeff Peterson, who started 25 games for the Big Ten stalwart last season, has transferred to Arkansas.

The Razorbacks announced the addition on Tuesday, and per NCAA rules, Peterson will sit out all games this season but can practice with the team.

"Jeff Peterson is a very good addition to the Razorback program and we're excited to have him," said Arkansas head coach John Pelphrey. "He obviously has to sit out next year, but he started in the Big Ten this year and had a good season. In two years, we'll be adding a guard who played in more than 50 games at Iowa and averaged more than 10 points as a sophomore."

Peterson did record 10.6 points, 4.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds per contest for the Hawkeyes last season.
