Springfield, MO -- (Sports Network) - Adam Leonard tallied 14 points and distributed five assists, as the Missouri State Bears topped the Auburn Tigers, 73-62, in the Glenn Wilkes Classic at JQH Arena.

Leonard made good on 4-of-7 shots from long range and added five rebounds to his all-around performance. Kyle Weems posted 13 points and seven boards for the Bears (1-0), while Jermaine Mallett contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and six helpers.

Lucas Hargrove led Auburn (1-1) and all scorers with 24 points and six rebounds. DeWayne Reed chipped in with 12 points, but he also accounted for seven of the team's 25 turnovers.

Missouri State limited Auburn to just a 36.7 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half, as it took a 36-31 lead to the break.

In the second half, the Bears hit four three-pointers and nine free throws en route to the 11-point triumph.

Missouri State went 15-of-20 at the foul line on the night, while Auburn connected on just 13-of-22 attempts from the stripe.
