Butler Beats Indiana, Advances In NIT Tip-Off

INDIANAPOLIS -- (Sports Network) - A.J. Graves poured in 20 points in leading the Butler Bulldogs to a 60-55 win over the Indiana Hoosiers in the finals of the NIT Season Tip-Off Indianapolis Regional. Graves shot just 4-of-18 from the field, but converted all 10 of his free- throw attempts, as the Bulldogs (3-0) advance to the semifinals of the tournament to be held at the Madison Square Garden. Mike Green added 17 points and four boards in the win. D.J. White guided the Hoosiers (1-1) in defeat with a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds. Roderick Wilmont also got into the mix, posting 14 points and seven rebounds in the losing cause. Indiana held Butler to a dismal 24.0 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half, taking a 26-23 lead into the break. In the second stanza, the Bulldogs made 5-of-12 three pointers and 12-of-14 free throws, as they came from behind for the five-point win. The Bulldogs compensated for just a 33.3 percent shooting effort from the floor in the game by forcing Indiana into 20 costly turnovers. Butler scored 19 points off those miscues.
