Murfreesboro, TN -- (Sports Network) - Kevin Kanaskie scored 13 points and dished out six assists while leading the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 68-62 victory over the Lipscomb Bisons in the First Shot Exempt Tournament.

Desmond Yates added 11 points for MTU (1-1), while Theryn Hudson contributed nine points.

Michael Lusk netted 16 points for Lipscomb (0-4), while Eddie Ard tallied 15 points. Brandon Brown posted a double-double in the loss, chipping in 10 points, while grabbing 13 rebounds.

Lipscomb held MTU to a 39.3 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half and went into the break with a slim, 31-30 lead.

The Blue Raiders woke up in the second half, however, shooting a solid 57.9 percent from the floor en route to the six-point win.

Middle Tennessee shot 42.9 percent from long range in the contest, while Lipscomb netted just 20 percent of its attempts from behind the arc.
