Baton Rouge, LA -- (Sports Network) - LSU junior forward Tasmin Mitchell announced on Wednesday that he will submit his name for the upcoming draft, but will not hire an agent.

Mitchell was a first-team all-SEC choice in 2009, leading the Tigers to a regular-season crown with a 27-8 record, including a 13-3 mark in the conference.

LSU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to national champion North Carolina.

Mitchell posted 16.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest in 2008-09, one season after receiving a medical redshirt following surgery for a stress fracture in his left shin.

"I will continue to attend class," Mitchell said. "School is still the first option. I want to finish the semester strong."

Underclassmen have until June 15 to withdraw their name from the draft and still retain collegiate eligibility.
