Baton Rouge, LA -- (Sports Network) - LSU forward Tasmin Mitchell will return for his senior season after filing paperwork on Monday that withdrew his name from the NBA Draft to be held on June 25.

Mitchell was a first-team all-SEC choice in 2009, leading the Tigers to a regular-season crown with a 27-8 record, including a 13-3 mark in the conference.

LSU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to eventual national champion North Carolina.

Mitchell posted 16.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest in 2008-09, one season after receiving a medical redshirt following surgery for a stress fracture in his left shin.

"I want to thank God for allowing me to make this decision," Mitchell said. "I'm coming back to a great program and a great coach. My family has really supported me in this process and in the end the best thing was for me to come back to LSU, get my degree, and have one more year to be a Tiger."
