St. Thomas, VI -- (Sports Network) - Adam Koch hit 5-of-5 three-pointers en route to a game-high 25 points, and the Northern Iowa Panthers notched a 74-68 win over the East Carolina Pirates as part of the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.

Jordan Eglseder contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds for UNI (2-1).

Four players scored in double figures for ECU (1-4), led by Brock Young, who scored 18. Jamar Abrams and Jontae Sherrod each tallied 15 points in the loss, while Darius Morrow finished with 12 points and eight boards.

UNI grabbed a 39-29 halftime lead after holding a key 15-3 scoring edge from the perimeter in the opening period.

The Pirates hung around by shooting 5-of-11 from beyond the arc in the second stanza, and they hit all 10 of their free-throw attempts in the frame. ECU cut the deficit to 69-65 on a three-pointer by Young with 27 seconds to play, but the Panthers closed out the win with some late free throws.

Without much separating the teams in terms of turnovers and rebounding, UNI's 22-16 edge at the foul line proved pivotal in the game.
