NCAA Game Summary - Akron At Temple

Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - Adam DiMichele ran for 50 yards and two scores, and the Temple Owls put up three touchdowns in the final eight minutes of the game, on the way to a 27-6 victory over the Akron Zips in a Mid- American Conference contest at Lincoln Financial Field. DiMichele also connected on 15-of-30 passes for 220 yards and was picked off twice. Jason Harper caught six passes for 115 yards for Temple (5-7, 4-4 MAC), which gained its most victories since going 7-4 in 1990. Dennis Kennedy ran for 153 yards to lead Akron (5-7, 3-5), while signal-caller Chris Jacquemain completed 20-of-39 passes for 166 yards with three interceptions. DiMichele put the Owls on top early in the second quarter with a four-yard touchdown run, but the extra point failed. The Zips were held off the scoreboard until late in the third quarter, when Igor Iveljic kicked a 24-yard field goal with 2:18 remaining. Iveljic added an 18-yard kick early in the fourth quarter to tie the game, but DiMichele gave the Owls a 13-6 lead on a four-yard touchdown run with 7:59 to play. The go- ahead score was set up by a 50-yard reception by Harper. Temple extended its advantage with touchdown runs of three and nine yards by Marcel Grigsby in the final 4:02.
