NCAA Game Summary - Washington State At Arizona State

(Sports Network) - Rudy Carpenter threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns as the Arizona State Sun Devils rolled to a 31-0 victory over the Washington State Cougars in a Pac-10 showdown.

Kyle Williams scored on both of his receptions for Arizona State (4-6, 3-4 Pac-10).

Kevin Lopina completed 11-of-16 passes for only 82 yards in the loss for Washington State (1-10, 0-8).

After a scoreless first quarter, Thomas Weber hit a 21-yard field goal to get Arizona State on the board. Carpenter then tossed a 14-yard touchdown to Kerry Taylor to give ASU a 10-0 lead at intermission.

In the third quarter, Carpenter and Williams hooked up for two scores covering 21 yards and 51 yards.

Arizona State capped the scoring early in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard fumble return by Lawrence Guy.

Washington State finished the game with seven rushing yards and a pair of turnovers.
