Fort Collins, CO -- (Sports Network) - Gartrell Johnson ran for 127 yards and a touchdown to lead the Colorado State Rams to a 20-6 victory over the New Mexico Lobos in a Mountain West Conference clash at Hughes Stadium.

Dion Morton grabbed five passes for 92 yards and a score in the Colorado State (5-6, 3-4 MWC) victory, while signal-caller Billy Farris completed 16-of-27 for 237 yards and a touchdown to pace the Rams.

Brad Gruner completed 23-of-39 for 204 yards to lead New Mexico (4-8, 2-6), while Rodney Ferguson ran for 85 yards in the losing effort.

A 25-yard field goal from Jason Smith gave Colorado State an early 3-0 lead.

The Lobos responded with a field goal of their own, a 36-yard James Aho kick, midway through the second period.

The Rams took a 10-3 lead into the break following a 12-yard run from Johnson.

Farris found Morton with a six-yard strike early in the third period to extend the Colorado State advantage.

A 42-yard field goal by Smith early in the final period of play gave the Rams a 20-3 lead.

Aho connected on a 25-yard kick minutes later, which proved to be the final score of the contest.
