NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Kentucky At Richmond

Richmond, VA -- (Sports Network) - Eric Ward threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns, as Richmond had four scores in the second half to blow past Eastern Kentucky, 38-10, in a first-round contest of the FCS playoffs. Ward completed 16-of-23 passes and had one interception, while Josh Vaughan ran for 90 yards and two TDs for Richmond (10-3), which will play Appalachian State in the quarterfinals. Appalachian State defeated South Carolina State, 37-21, Saturday. Richmond, which has now won eight straight games, also defeated EKU in the first round of last season's playoffs on the way to the semifinals. Tre Gray had seven catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns for Richmond, while Kevin Grayson also had a TD reception. Allan Holland completed 20-of-35 throws for 181 yards for Eastern Kentucky (8-4), but was intercepted twice and had no touchdowns. Holland ran for a score, but the Colonels accumulated only 269 total yards and saw their six- game win streak snapped.
