NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Michigan At Western Michigan

(Sports Network) - Tim Hiller completed 24-of-36 pass attempts for 339 yards and three scores to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to a 31-10 win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a Mid-American Conference tilt at Waldo Stadium.

Schneider Julien was Hiller's favorite target, hauling in 10 passes for 90 yards and a score, while Jamarko Simmons caught seven passes for 128 yards. Brandon West paced the Broncos (7-2, 5-1 MAC) ground attack, carrying the ball 29 times for 166 yards and a score.

EMU (2-8, 1-5) was led by quarterback Andy Schmitt who completed 21-of-35 pass attempts for 272 yards. Terrence Blevins and Dwayne Priest shared carries, as Blevins rushed 15 times for 52 yards and a score, while Priest carried the ball 13 times for 52 yards.

WMU kicked off the scoring in the first quarter when Hiller hooked up with Juan Nunez from 45 yards out to give the Broncos an early 7-0 lead.

The Broncos made it a 10-point lead late in the quarter on a 32-yard field goal by John Potter.

The Eagles respond early in the second stanza, as Blevins ripped off a 19-yard touchdown run.

WMU wasted little time in answering, as Hiller found Julien from seven yards out to give the Broncos a 17-7 lead at the half.

EMU closed the gap late in the third quarter on a 28-yard field goal by Joe Carithers to make the score 17-10.

The Broncos pulled away in the fourth quarter with a one-yard run by West.

Hiller added one more score late in the fourth quarter when he found Branden Ledbetter from 34 yards out to seal the 21-point win.

WMU received a valiant effort from its defense, which caused two turnovers on the day, while limiting EMU to just 6-of-17 on third-down conversions.
