New Orleans, LA -- (Sports Network) - Greg Dillon rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown while adding 151 yards and a score through the air, as Grambling State bested Southern, 29-14, in the 35th version of the Bayou Classic at the Louisiana Superdome. Frank Warren and Cornelius Walker each added a rushing touchdown for the Tigers (10-2, 7-0 SWAC), who clinched a spot against Jackson State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference title game on December 13. Grambling State outgained its counterpart, 217-42, on the ground. Bryant Lee threw for 184 yards and a score on 12-of-17 passes before leaving with an injury, and Warren Matthews threw three interceptions in relief for the Jaguars (7-5, 5-2), who had won four of the previous six meetings and holds an 18-17 edge in the Classic. With Lee at the helm, Southern led, 14-12, at the break. Grambling State's Luis Leal, who missed an extra point earlier in the game, knocked in a 25-yard field goal 2:46 into the third to put the Tigers up for good. A Matthews interception led to Walker's four-yard scamper early in the fourth, and Warren sealed the win with a 31-yard sprint to paydirt with 1:13 remaining.
