School To Close, Teachers To Be Laid Off In District Budget Cut
Center Grove Considers Referendum

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- An elementary school in the Center Grove Community School Corp. district will be closed and more cuts could be on the way.The school board voted 4-1 Monday night to close West Grove Elementary School and cut 10 teachers from the payroll.The council is considering putting a property tax increase referendum on the July ballot in hopes of making up for the school's system's $4 million budget shortfall.
The district is also considering cutting elementary arts and music programs.
