Ex-Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charges
Deal Calls For 18-Month Prison Sentence

DANVILLE, Ind. -- A man who quit his teaching job after being accused of downloading child pornography onto his school computer pleaded guilty in the case this week.
Scott Swiontek, who was a third-grade teacher at Hickory Elementary School in Avon, pleaded guilty to charges of possessing child pornography, RTV6 reported Thursday.
In a plea deal, Swiontek agreed to serve 18 months in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in June.Swiontek was arrested in January. According to court documents, school officials began an investigation after an outside consultant found questionable images on his school computer.Investigators said Swiontek visited an Internet site and began to download pornographic images on Jan. 9 while officials were monitoring his online activities.
