Marie Osmond Says Teen Son Is In Rehab
Singer Did Not Reveal Nature Of 16-Year-Old's Problem

Marie Osmond's rough stretch continues.The 48-year-old singer, who recently collapsed on "Dancing With the Stars" and lost her father last week, says in a statement that her 16-year-old son in a rehabilitation facility. "My son, Michael, is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues," Osmond said in a statement issued through her publicist, Marleah Leslie. "As his mother I couldn't be more proud of him."
Osmond noted in the statement that the press and public "have always been kind and gracious in the past," and knows that "they will continue to respect our privacy during this time."The reason why Osmond's son is in rehab was not revealed.The statement was first reported on "Entertainment Tonight" Wednesday night. Her brother and longtime singing partner, Donny Osmond, has been making appearances on the show of late as a guest host.Michael is one of Marie Osmond's five adopted children. She also has three other children from two marriages.Osmond announced earlier this year that she and her second husband, Brian Blosil, are divorcing.Osmond collapsed on live television on "Dancing With the Stars" Oct. 22 as she and her professional dance partner were hearing comments after doing an energetic samba. She bounced right back after fainting, and was on camera after the commercial break.Last week, the patriarch of the Osmond family, George Osmond, died at age 90. Despite the loss, more than 100 Osmond family members including Marie Osmond, Donny Osmond and their brothers and families kept a commitment and appeared together on Oprah Winfrey's show.
