INDIANAPOLIS -- Hannah Montana tickets are nearly impossible to get, but one lucky person who was willing to shell out big bucks will make her two children very happy and benefit a great cause.A woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, bid $13,000 for the set of four tickets as part of an auction on the Bob & Tom show, which is based in Indianapolis at WFBQ 94.7.The auction began at 6 a.m. and wrapped up just before the show went off the air, 6News' Julie Pursley reported.
Tickets for Hannah Montana's Dec. 9 show in Indianapolis sold out minutes after they went on sale, and have been selling for thousands of dollars online, perhaps the hottest ticket ever in the city. The VIP package includes four backstage passes to meet Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus on the hit Disney television show. The winning bidder will also get dinner and a free limousine ride to the show.Proceeds from the sale of the tickets are being donated to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, where the money will go to help buy games and technology for children at the cancer center."That's great. Everybody's all happy about it," said Tom Griswold. "We're happy to step away from the rock 'n roll for a couple of minutes to help out the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital."Bidding moved quickly, moving above $5,000 within a short amount of time. Everyone was shocked to hear of the final amount."Nintendo and laptops -- all of those things that children are used to having at home -- because we want them to be having fun and at home at our hospital," said Sue Ann Gilroy, St. Vincent Foundation executive director. The winning bidder is a stay-at-home mom from Indianapolis with an 8-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son. They, along with her husband, are big fans of the show and will go together.
