Report: Obama Camp Refuses Lohan's Help

Source Tells Chicago Paper Actress Would Not Be 'A Positive'

Apparently Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama isn't interested in a helping hand from actress Lindsay Lohan.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Lohan purportedly offered to host a series of events to appeal to young voters, but the Obama campaign quietly told the "Mean Girls" star "thanks, but no thanks."

A top source told the Sun Times that Lohan ''is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.''

Lohan has been busy with political commentary on her blog, and on Sunday she slammed Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and pledged her support for Obama.

"I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice," Lohan wrote. "I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the "lipstick on a pig" comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president."

Lohan also took issue in the blog with Palin's stand against homosexuality.

Lohan wrote, "Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?"

The actress also wrote, "Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?"

Although she's never publicly confirmed it, the media has speculated for months that Lohan is in a romantic relationship with disc jockey Samantha Ronson. The pair has been photographed together in public several times, and in a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, told of how she and Ronson got matching tattoos.

The magazine said that Lohan and Ronson have been living together since May.
