Robert Plant Slams Led Zeppelin Tour Rumors
Singer Says He Has No Plans For Next 2 Years
POSTED: 9:49 am EDT September 30, 2008
Robert Plant is making it official: He isn't touring with anyone for the next two years.Plant has issued a statement saying he will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin, in spite of recent media reports, and that "anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets.""It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant said in the statement on his official Web site.
Plant reunited for a "one-off" gig with Led Zeppelin at a benefit concert saluting late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London last December. It was the band's first full set since drummer John Bonham died in 1980.The concert featured Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones and Bonham's son, Jason, on drums.Plant has been touring since the reunion concert with bluegrass star Alison Krauss in support of their album of duets, "Raising Sand."In his statement, Plant said that he wishes "nothing but success with future projects" to Page, Jones and Bonham.Plant's tour with Krauss winds up Sunday in Saratoga, Calif.
