BURBANK, Calif. -- Actress Teri Hatcher and ABC are responding to a report of tension among "Desperate Housewives" stars during a shoot for the cover of Vanity Fair. The magazine said Marcia Cross stormed off the set and refused to pose next to Hatcher when Cross saw Hatcher positioned in the middle of the shot wearing a red bathing suit.Hatcher told "Access Hollywood" she was told where to stand and what to wear and it wasn't her idea.
She eventually agreed to pose on the left side of the group.Ironically, that ensured Hatcher a spot on the front cover with Eva Longoria and Nicollette Sheridan, while Cross and Felicity Huffman are stuck inside the foldout.Hatcher told "Access Hollywood" that the cast is "supportive" of each other and the problems will be worked out."What I know is that all of the girls are supportive of each other and think that everyone is tremendously talented in their roles and respect that there is a chemistry of characters and of actresses that make this thing work and I think that no one wants to damage that and that will be our job to come forward from this and figure out how to repair damage," Hatcher said.Meanwhile, ABC issued a statement regarding the incident, reported "Access Hollywood.""While negotiating certain elements of photo shoots is standard practice, and was part of our coordination with Vanity Fair, this shoot simply did not go as planned," said the statement. "Because of this, our talent were made to deal as best they could with a situation not of their making. This one isolated incident does not define these women or their relationship."Backlash Inevitable?Huffman told Vanity Fair that backlash over the show is imminent. But Cross just ignores it all.She told the magazine she doesn't bother to read what's written about the show. And, she said, she doesn't even watch it right now.Cross said, "It's too much. It's just too much..."
