Pop star BRITNEY SPEARS has embarked on a legal affair - her new boyfriend is an employee at a top law firm.

The Toxic hitmaker ended her engagement to her former manager Jason Trawick in January (13) and it appears she isn't wasting time to find a new man in her life.

Reports suggest she's dating lawyer David Lucado.

The couple enjoyed separate outings to a golf course and spa, and the singer is simply smitten with her new man, according to sources.

One tells People magazine, "Since meeting David, Britney has been in the best mood... They've spent almost every day together."

And the singer has even introduced the Virginia native to her conservator dad Jamie and sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Preston, seven, and Jayden, six.

An insider adds, "It was a big step. She's very excited... The boys think of David as a fun play pal."
