British pop star CONOR MAYNARD was forced to cancel a performance on British TV earlier this month (Oct12) over fears for his voice.

The Can't Say No hitmaker, 19, was a guest on The Xtra Factor - a spin-off of the U.K. version of The X Factor - and was scheduled to sing, but he had to axe his slot at the last minute to preserve his voice for upcoming gigs.

He tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "I had a break from performance, then came back into doing two shows a day and it really pushed my voice.

"I managed to have a chat on The Xtra Factor but had to cancel the performance - it was a real hit in the face. I've spoken to my throat doctor now about learning to warm up properly and eat well. This tour is going to be a step up."
