Director Peter Farrelly pays tribute to Danny Murphy

Moviemaker PETER FARRELLY has paid tribute to his friend and film collaborator DANNY MURPHY after learning of the 58 year old's cancer death.

Murphy, a quadriplegic actor best known for his roles in Farrelly's There's Something About Mary and Kingpin, died on Friday (08Aug14).

The director tells the New York Daily News that his late pal was "the bravest guy I ever knew in my life".

Murphy became a quadriplegic after breaking his neck in diving accident in 1974, when he was 19.

Farrelly reveals Murphy died on the 40th anniversary of his life-altering accident, but despite the tragedy, the filmmaker adds, "I never once heard him complain about his lot in life.

"Every time he was on the set he was just a ball. Every crew member felt the joy of being around Danny, and so did the actors."
