Moviemaker HARMONY KORINE spent hours turning over provocative photographs and taking down racy artwork at his home in Nashville, Tennessee when he heard SELENA GOMEZ was coming to audition for a role in his new film SPRING BREAKERS.

The director assumed the former Disney darling was somewhat religious and he didn't want to offend her with his collection of Nobuyoshi Araki framed prints.

He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I was like, 'Oh s**t, I don't want to freak her out right off the bat, have her open the door as there's all these things that are overwhelming.' So I started flipping photographs over... like Araki, this Japanese photographer who ties women up - but they're really beautiful."

Korine quickly realized he needn't have worried when Gomez and her manager mom - a big fan of the director - arrived.

He adds, "Within a couple of minutes it was great. I was kind of blown away."
