Actress GWYNETH PALTROW has laughed off recent reports suggesting she forces her children to follow an unnecessarily strict diet, insisting they are "normal kids" who snack on junk food.
The dietary habits of the Oscar winner's family has become tabloid fodder in recent weeks thanks to her new cookbook, in which she shares the secrets of her diet.
In It's All Good, Paltrow reveals she often gives up dairy, sugar and gluten to lose weight, prompting speculation she imposes the same rules on her rocker husband Chris Martin and their two kids, Apple and Moses.
However, in a candid chat on TV medical series Dr. Oz, Paltrow insists she allows her youngsters regular treats, but healthy snacks help her seven-year-old son Moses battle skin condition eczema.
She explains, "My son has very bad eczema and he's allergic to gluten and he's allergic to cow dairy. I try, at home, to make everything gluten-free for him because the difference in his comfort is unbelievable when he's sticking to what he's meant to be eating...
"I don't know where they get some of this stuff! They say I don't give my kids carbs, and I'm feeding them seaweed... I have no idea. But they eat Oreos (cookies), too, and they're normal kids."
