Representatives for JOAN RIVERS have postponed a planned stand-up show in New Jersey on Friday (29Aug14) following the veteran comedienne's hospitalization on Thursday (28Aug14).
The 81-year-old funnywoman was admitted to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital after she stopped breathing during a routine operation on her vocal cords at a nearby clinic.
Doctors placed her in a medically-induced coma and her daughter Melissa has since revealed Joan, who suffered cardiac and respiratory failure, is now "resting comfortably".
She will be brought out of the coma this weekend (30-31Aug14) so medics can assess any damage.
As a result of her health crisis, Rivers' comedy gig at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey, has been canceled.
The show, the last on her current North American tour, is expected to be rescheduled for a later date and fans have been advised to hold on to their tickets, which will be honored for the new concert.
A statement issued by theater bosses reads: "Everyone at the Count Basie Theater is relieved to hear that Ms. Rivers' condition has stabilized, and we look forward to hosting the iconic comedienne in the near future."
Rivers is due to embark on the U.K. leg of her trek in October (14).
