LINDSAY LOHAN's parents have assured fans the actress is "fine" after revealing she suffered a secret miscarriage while filming her reality TV series.
The Mean Girls star stunned viewers on Sunday (20Apr14), when the final episode of her eight-part docu-series Lindsay aired on Oprah Winfrey's U.S. network OWN, as she explained why she had taken a two-week break from shooting.
She said, "No one knows this - I had a miscarriage for those two weeks that I took off. That's why on the show when it says, 'She doesn't want to come down', I couldn't move, I was sick. Mentally, that messes with you."
Lohan refused to divulge details about the father of the child, simply stating it was "a very long story".
She has yet to comment on the shocking revelation following the series finale, but her mother Dina tells the New York Daily News that Lohan is "fine", while her dad Michael adds, "It's a private family matter, but she's doing fantastic. She's doing very well."
Meanwhile, outspoken rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne has cast doubt on Lohan's miscarriage story, insisting she's not convinced the embattled actress really suffered the tragedy.
Discussing the revelation during Monday's (21Apr14) episode of her U.S. daytime show The Talk, Osbourne said, "I think she probably had diarrhea or something. I don't believe she had a miscarriage, I believe she's quite confused and I've had enough of watching her trying to make her life better... Everybody uses that (miscarriage) as an excuse. What a load of old codswallop (utter nonsense)!"
Offering up some sage advice to Lohan, who completed a court-ordered stay in rehab last summer (13), she added, "Nix the drinking, dear, nix the partying, love, stay home!"
