Lindsay Lohan: 'I was overpaid as a child star'

LINDSAY LOHAN is convinced she was "making too much" money as a child star and squandered her fortune after moving to Los Angeles as a teenager.
The actress has opened up about her personal problems in a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired in America on Sunday night (18Aug13).
During the Oprah's Next Chapter chat, Lohan spoke about her legal dramas and her most recent spell in rehab, insisting her problems began after she found fame as a child and moved from her native New York to Los Angeles.
The 27 year old admitted she made a lot of money during the early days of her career, but she blew it all as she didn't have proper guidance.
She said, "When I moved to L.A. after filming Mean Girls, I was 17 or 18. I was around people so I wasn't lonely, and I didn't pay close enough attention to people being around for the wrong reasons. I was making too much. I wasted so much money; I was living at a hotel, and I had an apartment. I wasn't really being guided. I didn't think about it, and I didn't listen to my family when they told me, 'Come back to New York.'"
When Winfrey asked her how it feels to be held up as an example of a "child star gone wrong," Lohan replied, "I hate that label and that title. That's not what I ever aspired to be."
The Mean Girls star also insisted she is in a "different head space now" and vowed to get her career back on track following her latest court-ordered rehab stint.
