Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop was meant for Rihanna

MILEY CYRUS' new single WE CAN'T STOP was originally intended for RIHANNA, according to producer MIKE WILL MADE-IT.

The hitmaker, who previously crafted tracks for rappers 2 Chainz and Juicy J, reveals the song was one of two club tracks he had lined up for the Umbrella hitmaker while working on her 2012 release, Unapologetic.

He tells MTV News, "When I originally worked on We Can't Stop, we had did it (sic) for Rihanna. The idea was more towards Rihanna. Rihanna, she heard Pour It Up right away, and she didn't even hear We Can't Stop."

He then presented the track to label bosses at Sony Music, who believed it was "perfect" for Cyrus' next album - and the former child star has since injected her own attitude to make the single her own.

Mike Will Made-It says, "They played it for her, she liked it... We went in (to the studio), she nailed the record, and she did it with her swag. So it sounds totally different than from what we originally tried to come up with."

Ironically, many music pundits have suggested Cyrus' new track sounds like a Rihanna tune.
