INDIANAPOLIS -- Nearly everyone is trying to save money these days, but that doesn't mean a nice meal on the town can't be had for a very reasonable price.

Many Indianapolis restaurants are offering deals in hopes of wooing customers during tough economic times, but some of the deals are hard to find because they aren't always advertised, 6News' Sarah Cornell reported.

Ryan Kellerman, general manager of Scotty's Brewhouse, said his restaurant recently launched a campaign it calls "Fork the Recession."

"We know that people are hurting and people are losing jobs," Kellerman said. "We need to make sure people still have a place to come to eat reasonably and have a good meal."

Scotty's is offering several deals for adults and children. On Sunday and Tuesday, children eat free with the purchase of an entrée. A $6 lunch menu is now offered all day.

Binkley's in Broad Ripple is also in tune with bargaining for diners. Its menu offers 45 wines by the glass for under $10.

"It's definitely an economy driven thing," said Robert Diaz, of Binkley's. "We've seen steakhouses downtown really getting hit hard by the economy. We've actually had the largest quarter ... ever in the four years we've been open."

A lot of good deals can be found online. At kidseatfree.com, parents can find a free meal for their children almost any night of the week. Restaurants.com offers a $25 off coupon for $10.

St. Elmo's, an Indianapolis institution, also offers weekend discounts. On Sundays, they feature several three course meals for $30.
