Singh Up To Third In World Rankings

Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - Vijay Singh won his second FedEx Cup Playoff event on Monday when he took the Deutsche Bank Championship, and in the process moved up to third in this week's Official World Golf Rankings.Singh, who came from behind for his third victory in five weeks, rose two spots to No. 3 this week. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson held one and two again this week, followed by Singh. Padraig Harrington, a two-time major winner this year who has missed the cut in both FedEx Playoff events, fell one to fourth, followed by Sergio Garcia, who also dropped one from last week. Henrik Stenson stayed sixth, while Ernie Els moved up one to No. 7. Steve Stricker, recently added to Paul Azinger's U.S. Ryder Cup team, climbed up two to eighth and Stewart Cink sank two to ninth. Geoff Ogilvy fell one to round out the top 10. Adam Scott, Lee Westwood, Jim Furyk and Justin Rose held their rankings from the week prior. Anthony Kim crept up one spot to 15th, as K.J. Choi dropped one to 16th. Kenny Perry, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini completed the top 20.
