Marion County Announces More H1N1 Clinics

Wednesday, Thursday Clinics Intended For At-Risk Hoosiers

The Marion County Health Department will hold two more H1N1 vaccine clinics next week with a focus on at-risk Hoosiers.

The clinics will be held at the Lafayette Square shopping mall at 3919 Lafayette Road on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Health officials said the clinic is intended for those individuals identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as high risk:

  • Pregnant women
  • People who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months
  • Those ages 6 months to 24 years
  • Individuals between the ages of 25 and 64 years old who have certain medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications
  • Health care workers with direct patient contact
  • Officials said individuals seeking a vaccine should be prepared to wait in long lines, possibly outside, and fill out paperwork.

    The vaccines will be offered for free.
