County Announces More School-Based H1N1 Clinics

Students Offered Vaccine At Free Clinics

POSTED: 11:06 am EST November 11, 2009

The Marion County Health Department announced Wednesday more clinics to give free H1N1 vaccine to students.

Clinics will begin next week for elementary school students in Franklin and Decatur townships, along with Speedway and Beech Grove.

The Health Department began vaccinating elementary students at IPS and several other township districts earlier this week.

"The addition of these school systems moves us closer to our goal of offering the vaccine to our school-aged children by the end of December," said Marion County Health Department Director Dr. Virginia Caine.

Vaccinations will begin at Franklin and Decatur Township schools on Nov. 16 and at Speedway schools on Nov. 18.

The Beech Grove clinic will be held at the South Grove Intermediate School on Nov. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Lawrence Township's schools will have a clinic for elementary students on Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lawrence North High School Fieldhouse.

Parents and guardians must fill out a consent form for their children to take part in any of the clinics.
