Cuban doctor Misael Bordier said the alternative therapy hasn't cured any one patient, but 97 percent of them experienced improvements in their quality of life, including reduction of tumors.
Bordier said his 21 years of research into the properties of the venom secreted by Escozul scorpions -- native to the Caribbean -- found better success with some types of specific tumors, including cancers of the lung, liver, digestive system and prostate.The venom, taken orally, does not directly attack diseased cells, but inhibits the development of new ones.Bordier says about 50,000 patients in Cuba have received the scorpion therapy, allegedly adding 10 or more years to their lives.Bordier, who holds the patent to the treatment, says there are almost no side effects.
