Christmas is less than one week away. Have you finished your shopping?

Many people are still searching for the perfect gift for each and every person on their list. So, I decided to compile a list of great last-minute gift ideas for the fitness-aholic because sometimes they can be hard to buy for -- you can't just send them a bottle of wine or some cookies!

These ideas might also be great for someone new to the fitness industry. Maybe they are trying to take the first steps and just need that extra push.

  • Subscription to a fitness magazine. This is a great idea for anyone with the slightest interest in exercise. For women, try Oxygen or Fitness RX (my personal favorites!), or for men, try AHF or MuscleMag.
  • Gift card to a local health food store. One of my clients did this for me, and what a great idea it was! I could buy the healthy food I love without having to spend my own money (those health food stores get quite expensive).
  • Massage: there is not a fitness guru out there who wouldn't love this after a tough workout. Make sure to include tax and tip!
  • Apple iPod -- these come in handy when working out. You can push yourself a little harder if you're jammin' to your favorites. If an Ipod is a little out of your price range, you can always give a gift certificate toward the purchase of one from a store like Best Buy.
  • Giift certificate to any store that might carry workout attire, accessories. Anywhere from Dick's to Target to Frankey's Scoop. Pick the store that best suits the person in mind.

There you have it -- five great gift ideas for anyone who loves to work out. But don't forget those beginners either. Any of these gifts might just give them that extra motivation to return to the gym day after day.

Happy Holidays, and stay fit!
