A special prom-posal at Lawrence North

It used to be that going to the prom was a big deal.

Now, just asking someone to go to the big dance requires a special plan all its own.

"Prom-posals" can get pretty outrageous. 

But sometimes the message can mean even more. 

Case in point - Brianna Nave asking Dell to the Lawrence North prom. 

Dell is a friend of Brianna's brother and a freshman. He also happens to have a developmental disability.

The video of Brianna asking Dell to the prom has been watched thousands of times online, and for good reason.

"I was shocked. I didn't know it was coming," Dell said. "Then, I had butterflies and I was excited when I got home."

Brianna says she invited Dell because last year, she was asked to prom by someone on the football team who "prom-posed" and it meant a lot to her. She wanted to give someone else that same amazing feeling.

"His reaction was just great. I didn't think he was going to react the way he did," Breanna said. "I started tearing up and was trying to hold it all in."
