INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A man wanted on a robbery warrant out of Marion County was arrested by troopers after a chase Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis.

An Indiana State Police trooper was sitting in his vehicle on the side of I-69 south in Castleton when his automatic license plate reader alerted him that the owner of a car that just passed by was wanted on a robbery warrant.

Two troopers tried to pull the car over at 82nd Street and Bash Road, but the suspect sped off as the troopers got out of their cruisers.

They chased the suspect to 82nd and Castleton Way where he ran into the back of a vehicle stopped at the traffic light.  State police say the suspect continued to drive until he jumped out of the passenger door of his car and ran. His car continued to roll and hit a stationary ehicle.

Troopers were able to quickly catch Munajj Siddeeq, 20, of Fishers, and he was taken to Eskenazi Hospital after complaining of pain from the crash.

The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was treated at the scene.

Investigators say they also believe Siddeeq may have been under the influence of drugs during the chase. He’s facing multiple charges including resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of a crash and DUI.
