POSTED: 4:39 pm EST January 24, 2008

Delphi Corp. on Thursday said it is laying off about 75 people from its Kokomo manufacturing plant, citing a slowdown in demand for its products.

The layoffs will take effect Monday, the company said.

United Auto Workers, which represents workers at the plant, hadn't responded to the news by 3 p.m. Thursday, 6News reported.

The plant makes electronic components for General Motors vehicles.
