INDIANAPOLIS - As medical experts continue to report that this is the worst flu season in the U.S. in years, the Marion County Public Health Department is offering free flu vaccinations in an effort to help stop the bug from spreading.

As of Friday, Indiana health officials reported at least 27 flu related deaths in the Hoosier state.

Area hospitals warned anyone with flu-like symptoms to put on a mask to avoid spreading the virus.

The average cost for a flu-shot is about $30, but the MCPHD is offering the vaccine free of charge on Friday.

The free flu clinic will run from 1  p.m. to 5 p.m. at the MCPHD Training Center at 4012 North Rural Street.
