According to a new study from Canadian researchers, kids who regularly attend day care are more likely to be overweight than those who stay at home with a guardian.

The study found that kids between the ages of one and four, who stayed with an extended family member or in a daycare, were more likely to be become obese by the age of 10.  The data was compared to children who were cared for at home by the parents.

Researchers said they have not yet figured out the reason behind the weight difference, but that diet and exercise need to be closely watched if you have a child in daycare.

The study was published in the November Journal of Pediatrics.
