MUNCIE, Ind. - A Muncie woman who lost her husband in 2001 is working to help others who've been touched by suicide to overcome the pain and stigma associated with it.
Sheri Hole's husband, Jeff, died of a gunshot wound. She tells The Star Press (http://tspne.ws/175MNHr ) she initially battled anger and questioned why her husband had gotten so depressed that he felt his life wasn't worth living.
Now she works to help others who've survived suicide and to find ways to prevent it.
Hole and other mental health advocates hope to create a "Mental Health Team" to work with police to identify people needing mental health assistance.
She says she hopes such an effort would prevent people like her husband from giving in to their pain.
