State Confirms 4 Human Cases Of West Nile

Health officials have confirmed four human cases of the West Nile virus in Indiana.

Cases have been identified in Hamilton, Marion and Jackson counties.

No details were released about the infected individuals or in what communities they live.

Mosquitoes carrying the virus have been found in 62 Indiana counties so far this year.

West Nile virus can cause an illness with symptoms including fever, headache, body aches, swollen lymph glands or a rash.

Health officials urged Hoosiers to take steps to protect themselves from being bitten by mosquitoes.
