INDIANAPOLIS -- Garth Brooks fans have reason to be excited for his upcoming Indianapolis shows. After all, the last time Brooks performed in Indianapolis, Bill Clinton was president and Market Square Arena was still standing.

Brooks sold out four shows at the arena as part of the “Garth Brooks World Tour” in March 1996.

Before playing his final show that year, Brooks surprised fans by attending a songwriting seminar at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

He told the crowd, “The first thing that you’ve got to look for in a song is that you are exactly who you are playing to. You are the people on the other end of the radio listening to those speakers when you drive.”

Needless to say, his fans were overjoyed.
