Child Protection Team: Keeping Kids Safe
At Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.Vincent, our Child Protection Team provides a safe environment to help children who are suspected of being abused or neglected.
The team's mission is to identify, treat, and ultimately reduce the incidence of child maltreatment; and to enhance the well-being of families to nurture safe, happy, and healthy children.
Child Abuse: Recognizing The Signs
The following signs should be an alert to the possibility of child abuse or neglect:
- Sudden changes in behavior or school performance
- Lack of care received for physical or medical problems brought to the parents' attention
- Learning problems (or difficulty concentrating) that cannot be attributed to specific physical or psychological causes
- Watchful or guarded
- Overly compliant, passive, or withdrawn
- Lack of adult supervision
- Avoidance of home or running away
Each year, more than 3 million child abuse reports are made in the United States. According to Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, more than 90,000 cases were reported in Indiana in 2008.

How to order: You can order the plate when renewing your registration online or by requesting it at your local license branch (BMV). Cost: The cost of the plate is $40 annually. $25 will benefit the Child Protection Team at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.
