Chicago, IL -- (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds placed infielder Jerry Hairston Jr. on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right hamstring.

The move is retroactive to August 18.

In 63 games this season, Hairston is hitting .338 with two home runs, 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

To replace Hairston on the roster, the Reds recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Louisville.
