INDIANAPOLIS -- Another 20-cent jump in regular unleaded gas prices greeted motorists on their morning commute Tuesday.Speedway gas stations increased their prices overnight from around $3.75 a gallon to $3.95, putting a bigger dent in consumers' wallets.Other gas stations generally follow the lead of Speedway stations, which means gas near $4 will likely be a reality for all motorists in the region.
The latest increases came as crude oil futures dropped under $125 a barrel, and amid a growing backlash that continues to drag the nation's economy.AAA's Fuel Gauge Report indicates an average price of $3.80 a gallon in central Indiana, with an average of $3.73 a gallon nationwide. Typically, that survey is a couple of days behind real-time prices.
